History

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Sonoma County originally began in the spring of l987 as a group called the “Hispanic Business and Professionals Association” (HBPA) formerly known as the “Latino Breakfast Club”. In the Fall of l987, Mr. Ricardo Navarrette, then incoming Dean at the Santa Rosa Junior College, became the first President of HBPA.

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Sonoma County was founded in 1988 and continues to grow in membership and its endeavors. We comprise a network of professionals, entrepreneurs, business people, individuals, and community leaders – Hispanic and non-Hispanic – who see the importance of the Hispanic community and its impact on our society.

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Sonoma County is a chartered organization that is aligned with the Northern California Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, whereby we have access to resources and information at the state and national level.

At the local level members, through active participation, have an opportunity to create a difference in our community, to develop relationships with peers that can support business efforts, and tap into excellent sources for new client development.

Through membership with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, our collective voices can be heard in the political, social, economic, and educational arena.

"Really making a difference in helping to build a healthy and prosperous Sonoma County."
